    • Leveraging Python, SQL, Databricks, and Azure services to solve data quality, performance, and scalability challenges
    • Supporting Floor & Decor's strategic migration from SQL Server to Databricks by modernizing legacy workloads and improving data accessibility
    • Building automated monitoring, testing, and data quality frameworks that improve reliability and trust in enterprise data products
    • Collaborating with analytics engineers, architects, and platform teams to establish engineering standards and best practices
    • Leading technical initiatives, mentoring team members, and contributing to the evolution of Floor & Decor's modern data platform
    You'll Be Successful With
    • Experience building and supporting enterprise-scale data platforms, data pipelines, and cloud-based data solutions
    • Strong expertise in Python, SQL, Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and modern data engineering practices
    • Experience designing dimensional models, lakehouse architectures, and scalable data products that support business decision-making
    • The ability to analyze complex technical and business challenges and translate them into practical, scalable solutions
    • Confidence partnering with technical teams and business stakeholders across multiple functions
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences
    • A proactive mindset with strong ownership, accountability, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment
    • Passion for continuous improvement, modern cloud technologies, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions
    Minimum Eligibility Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience preferred
    • 5+ years of Data Engineering experience
    • Experience developing production-grade data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions
    • Strong proficiency with Python and SQL
    • Experience working with Databricks, Spark, Azure Data Services, or similar cloud data platforms
    • Experience with dimensional modeling, ETL/ELT design, and enterprise data architecture concepts
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Experience working in compliance-sensitive environments such as SOX, PCI, or regulated industries is a plus
    Essential Functions

    • Support migration efforts from SQL Server EDW to Databricks by modernizing legacy workloads and validating business logic
    • Implement data quality controls, monitoring, alerting, and operational support processes
    • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and engineering best practice initiatives
    • Document technical solutions, data models, and operational processes to support long-term maintainability
    • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the Data Engineering organization
    • Identify opportunities to improve platform performance, reduce technical debt, and increase engineering efficiency
    • Own data products through their full lifecycle, from requirements gathering and development through production support and continuous improvement
