Job description

Overview

The Global Filter Value Stream Leader will be based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Value Stream Leader will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing activities for process filtration products. They play a pivotal role in Global Filter’s success by championing the manufacturing process ensuring safety, production quality, and efficiency. The Value Stream Leader will have a strong understanding of the Global Filter product portfolio, production processes & procedures, operating tools & equipment within the manufacturing process, and our core culture.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated quick learner with a strong bias for action. The candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a team-player attitude. The person must be able to meet expectations consistently, predictably, and reliably with regards to attendance, quality of work, and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Lead point of contact for supporting Production Technicians with production activities and equipment operation to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency of outcomes
  • Train and coach Production Technicians on best manufacturing and continuous improvement practices to achieve Global Filter’s goals, objectives, and operational standards
  • Lead by example through daily activities focused on continuously improving quality, productivity, team cohesion, and building strong culture with a positive attitude
  • Collaborate with Production Supervisors to ensure production activities are prioritized daily
  • Ensure priority, expedited requests are completed and delivered to the shipping department within appropriate timeline.
  • Support Production Supervisors by ensuring materials and labor are utilized effectively and efficiently to achieve optimal production
  • Deploy work activities to Production Technicians to produce quality finished products within manufacturing standards
  • Assemble process filtration products to desired product specifications
  • Safely operate production equipment designed to cut process filtration products
  • Navigate ERP system to ensure accuracy for material allocations and inspections within your team and department
  • Run various sonic welding equipment to weld pleat packs and other process filtration products
  • Operate and troubleshoot thermal end-cap machines as needed
  • Inspect work packs and labels for accuracy, ensuring correct assembly of product by using our product building system
  • Notify Production Supervisors, Production Manager, or Engineering if bill of materials (BOMs) or routing instructions need to be corrected or updated
  • Verify and follow all work pack instructions to desired customer and product specifications
  • Notify Production Supervisor, Planner, or Production Manager of any defective or scrap goods
  • Review and approve shop floor timecards to ensure accurate labor and cost allocations daily.
  • Utilize various hand and power tools to assemble process filtration products
  • Perform accurate measurements and basic mathematics to inspect finish lengths and diameters
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Ability to read and follow instructions provided on work orders and work pack instructions
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure
  • Must be able to perform basic math calculations
  • Must be able to work in a clean atmosphere producing multiple lines of high purity process filtration products
  • Must be able to work in a positive, dynamic work environment with an emphasis on teamwork and quality of work
  • Must practice excellent personal hygiene on a daily basis
