The Critical Site Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, construction, and delivery of critical telecommunications infrastructure projects. This role combines strong project management discipline with deep technical knowledge to ensure all critical site initiatives, including regen and colocation builds, power and environmental systems, and civil construction, are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with engineering and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate is a skilled project leader who can manage complex, multi-phase infrastructure projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure seamless execution across internal departments and external contractors.

    Project Leadership and Execution

    • Lead all phases of critical infrastructure projects from scoping and design through construction, commissioning, and turnover.
    • Develop project plans, budgets, schedules, and risk management strategies to ensure delivery on time and within scope.
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including Engineering, Construction, Operations, Real Estate, and Legal, to align project objectives and resources.
    • Manage third-party vendors, contractors, and consultants, ensuring accountability and quality deliverables.

    Regen and Site Development

    • Oversee the design and layout of regen buildings and facilities to support the network performance and scalability.
    • Manage permitting, site readiness, and civil construction activities.
    • Conduct regular site audits to validate compliance with technical specifications and safety requirements.

    Land Acquisition and Civil Oversight

    • Supervise civil construction contractors, ensuring adherence to project plans, budgets, and timelines.
    • Monitor environmental, zoning, and safety compliance throughout construction activities.

    Power and Environmental Systems

    • Manage the design, documentation, and lifecycle maintenance of power and environmental infrastructure, including generators, UPS systems, and batteries.
    • Oversee power audits, capacity planning, and the integration of alarm and security systems.
    • Collaborate with field operations to implement system upgrades and preventive maintenance plans.

    Colocation and Capacity Management

    • Direct implementation of colocation services, including space and power provisioning.
    • Track and report site capacity metrics, ensuring infrastructure scalability.
    • Maintain up-to-date site documentation and ensure audit compliance.

    Compliance and Continuous Improvement

    • Ensure all projects meet relevant standards and codes (NEC, TIA, NFPA, OSHA, EPA, Telecordia).
    • Promote process improvement and documentation accuracy across project lifecycles.

    Requirements

    Required

    • Minimum of 8 years' experience in telecom or fiber infrastructure project management, construction, or commissioning.
    • Proven success in managing technical infrastructure projects with multiple stakeholders.
    • Skilled in vendor oversight, risk management, and cross-functional communication.
    • Proficient in design and documentation tools such as Carma or equivalent.

    Preferred

    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
    • BICSI / RCDD certification.
    • Prior military experience.
