    Job description

    Human Resource Manager

    About Your Role:
    As a Human Resource Manager at Dollar Tree's Distribution Center, you'll lead a team of HR professionals and serve as a trusted advisor to DC leadership. You'll provide strategic and tactical guidance, oversee all HR functions, and drive initiatives that enhance associate engagement, development, and performance. Your day-to-day job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
    HR Leadership & Strategy:
    • Lead the HR function for the DC, providing guidance to associates and leadership on all people-related matters
    • Advise senior leaders on leadership development, staffing, succession planning, performance management, and compliance
    • Lead initiatives to foster a positive, productive, and union-free work environment
    • Analyze data related to turnover, productivity, attendance, and safety; develop solutions to maximize efficiencies and reduce costs

    Talent Management & Development:
    • Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and development for hourly and exempt associates
    • Creating a culture of continuous development, mentorship, and succession planning within the DC
    • Partner with SSC Talent Acquisition to fill hard-to-fill or senior DC positions
    • Lead and develop the HR team to ensure timely and accurate administration of payroll, benefits, attendance tracking, and performance management

    Employee Relations & Compliance:
    • Provide guidance on employee relations matters, investigations, and disciplinary actions
    • Ensure adherence to company policies, federal and state employment laws, and local regulations
    • Build and maintain strong community ties, promoting the DC as an employer of choice
    • Lead programs to minimize workers' compensation and accident/incident costs

    Operational Excellence:
    • Partner with DC leadership to implement policies, programs, and systems that drive operational efficiency
    • Collaborating with SSC and DC partners on continuous improvement initiatives
    • Facilitate communication and information sharing across leadership and associate teams
    • Maintain high levels of confidentiality and serve as a role model for ethical and professional conduct

    Your Required Skills and Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
    • Minimum of 5 years HR management experience supporting a light industrial workforce of at least 200 associates
    • Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws
    • Proven leadership, administrative, organizational, and communication skills
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, interpret, and implement solutions
    • Experience managing HR teams and providing guidance to operational leaders
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
    • Ability to work flexible shifts and occasional out-of-town travel

    Preferred Requirements:
    • 7+ years leading HR in a large-volume, complex retail distribution or fulfillment center
    • Experience managing HR for a client group of 400+ associates across multiple shifts
    • Bachelor's degree in human resources or business administration, or SPHR certification
    • Prior training experience
