    Overview:

    Strike Team Engineer II

    Department: TR IT Strike Team Network Engineering
    Reports To: Assistant Vice President of Systems Engineering
    Location: South Bend, IN

    Tire Rack is looking for a Strike Team Engineer II to join our IT Strike Team Network Engineering team. This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation, reliability, and performance of our network and server infrastructure while also contributing to time-sensitive technology projects across the organization.

    As a Strike Team Engineer II, you will work on short-timeline, high-priority engagements, helping design, implement, troubleshoot, and support infrastructure solutions. You will collaborate with fellow IT professionals, project managers, and business partners to resolve technical challenges and ensure projects are delivered reliably and efficiently.

    The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who is comfortable working across both network and server environments, can quickly analyze technical issues, and thrives in a collaborative project-focused environment.

    What You’ll Do

    • Design, implement, manage, and support information and network systems.
    • Configure, maintain, and operate Linux and Windows operating system servers.
    • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify opportunities to eliminate recurring problems.
    • Support infrastructure projects with short timelines and changing priorities.
    • Perform quality assurance testing and identify potential reliability, performance, and capacity risks.
    • Assist with network and power capacity planning.
    • Schedule, coordinate, and track hardware maintenance activities.
    • Install, troubleshoot, and support network and data cabling infrastructure.
    • Develop and maintain operational procedures, technical documentation, and troubleshooting guides.
    • Provide technical assistance and knowledge sharing to fellow IT team members.
    • Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to management and project managers.
    • Work collaboratively with other IT teams and project stakeholders to complete assignments.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field.
    • Professional experience working with IT systems and infrastructure.
    • Experience administering both Linux and Windows operating systems.
    • Experience with network and power capacity planning.
    • Solid understanding of network infrastructure and data cabling.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrated troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
    • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects or assignments.
    • Strong communication and documentation skills.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

    Travel: Local travel is required.
