Special Education Teaching/Early Childhood Special Education
1.0 FTE (LTS)

Job Summary: 













  1. Teaching in a small group ECSE classroom, integrated preschool classroom, and/or itinerant services position. Travel between buildings may be required and reimbursed per district policies.
  2. Teach preschool curriculum of Independent School District 196.
  3. Develop and implement intervention strategies for preschool-aged children with disabilities.
  4. Plan instruction collaboratively with all classroom staff.
  5. Maintain good communication and cooperation with staff and parents.
  6. Direct the work of paraprofessional(s) in the classroom.
  7. Facilitate annual IEP meetings and manage due process paperwork as the case manager for children receiving ECSE services.
  8. Create a positive and supportive learning environment.
  9. Carry out responsibilities as defined by master contract and supervisor.
  10. Collaborate with others to support students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment, including supporting and performing the necessary delegated health tasks.


Qualifications:

  1. Minnesota licensure in Early Childhood Special Education
  2. Strong academic background
  3. Ability to relate positively to students, staff, and community
  4. Experience working with 3-5 year olds with disabilities
  5. Prefer experience working in multiple ECSE settings (integrated/small group/community based)
  6. Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.

According to contractual agreement.
