What are some common challenges professionals face when transitioning to a full-time role from part-time or contract work?

Transitioning to a full-time position often involves adapting to a more structured schedule, increased workload, and higher expectations for long-term commitment and team collaboration. DIRECTOR OF SAFETY

Construction / Industrial Operations | Full-Time

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Director of Safety to lead and own our safety program from the ground up. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep expertise in construction and industrial safety operations. You will be responsible for driving a culture of safety across our workforce, subcontractors, and owner/client relationships — all while managing the realities of schedule pressure in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Incident Investigations — Root cause analysis, documentation, and corrective action follow-through.

EMR Strategy — Proactive experience modification rate management to protect our competitive position.

OSHA Reporting — 300 logs, recordkeeping, and full regulatory compliance.

Subcontractor Compliance — Qualification, on-site oversight, and enforcement of safety standards.

Onboarding & Training Systems — New hire orientation, training matrices, and competency tracking.

Documentation & Audit Trails — Retention protocols and audit-ready recordkeeping.

Trend Analysis — Data-driven safety performance reporting and leading indicator tracking.

Permit Systems — Hot work, confined space, energized work, and all permit-required processes.

Energized Work Processes — LOTO, arc flash, and electrical safety program management.

Crane & Rigging Risks — Lift planning, equipment inspection, and operator oversight.

Owner/Client Reporting — Safety metrics, dashboards, and executive-level updates.

Schedule Pressure — Maintaining the highest safety standards without compromising project timelines.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Proven track record managing safety programs in construction or heavy industrial environments

- Deep knowledge of OSHA standards, EMR management, and incident investigation methodologies

- Experience managing subcontractor safety programs and owner/client safety requirements

- Expertise in high-hazard work including energized systems, crane/rigging operations, and permit-required work

- Strong communicator who can influence at all levels — field crews, leadership, and clients

- Ability to hold the line on safety standards under schedule and budget pressure

- CSP, CHST, or equivalent certification preferred

If you are a safety professional who leads by presence, earns trust in the field, and knows how to build programs that hold up under pressure — we want to hear from you.
