About the Role & Team
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Data Engineering Team. Data Engineering is focused on building and supporting the applications and services that powers data-intensive trading and market data systems.
In this role, you will participate in the full software development lifecycle from design and implementation through production support and continuous enhancement. You will join a collaborative team that values strong engineering fundamentals, operational ownership, learning, and modern development practices.
What You'll Do:
  • Design and develop scalable applications for our data platforms
  • Maintain and support critical data services, including participating in support rotations
  • Perform data maintenance, backup and security checks
  • Optimize data access
  • Integrate and manage third-party data sources and feeds
  • Ensure data security in accordance with internal policies and procedures
  • Build GUI tools to help visualize data

Your Background:
  • Strong proficiency in C, C++, or other compiled language
  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Experience working with data-intensive systems or large datasets
  • Strong understanding of developing and troubleshooting applications in Linux environments
  • Experience with modern software development practices, including code reviews, version control, automated testing, and CI/CD.
  • Ability and openness to participate in operational/on-call rotations.
  • Familiarity with using AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding workflows.

Nice-to-haves:
  • Experience with KDB+/Q in a production environment (or openness to learn)
  • Experience in Python is beneficial
  • Understanding of financial markets or trading systems experience
  • Exposure to working with an order management system
  • Knowledge of the FIX protocol

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting annual base pay is between $120,000 and $150,000 for this NY-based position. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The annual base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is eligible for bonus and equity.
