    Job Title: Field Service Engineer / Equipment Technician (Semiconductor)

    Location: Austin, TX (Samsung Austin Facility) / Taylor, TX (potential coverage – night shift possible)
    Work Type: Onsite


    Job Summary

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Field Service Engineer / Equipment Technician to support semiconductor equipment installation, maintenance, and repair at Samsung facilities in Austin and Taylor, TX. This role requires strong adherence to safety protocols (PPE, LOTO), a commitment to quality standards, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic construction and cleanroom environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of semiconductor processing equipment
    • Verify equipment performance against strict quality specifications and tolerances
    • Adhere to safety standards, including proper use of PPE and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
    • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process-related equipment issues
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, supervisors, and customers to minimize equipment downtime
    • Order, replace, and install parts as required
    • Respond promptly to emergency service calls
    • Maintain accurate documentation, service reports, and maintenance records
    • Perform system upgrades and modifications as required
    • Provide guidance and training to customer technicians on equipment operation and maintenance
    • Stay current with product updates, manuals, and training materials
    • Ensure proper care, maintenance, and security of company tools and equipment


    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum 2+ years of experience in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of tools and installations within the semiconductor industry
    • Strong focus on quality control and ability to meet precise specifications
    • Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols (PPE, LOTO) in construction or industrial environments
    • Stable work history with consistent experience in relevant roles
    • Excellent problem-solving and customer communication skills
    • Solid mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using tools

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Associate’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field with relevant experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology (preferred)
    • Candidates with 5+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree (High School Diploma required)


    Work Environment & Conditions

    • Work performed in cleanroom and construction site environments
    • Tasks may involve confined spaces, elevated work areas, and awkward positions
    • Requires use of PPE at all times (safety glasses, safety shoes, bump cap, cleanroom garments)
    • Exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, including:
    • Chemicals
    • High voltage/electrical systems
    • Moving mechanical parts
    • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
    • Frequent bending, climbing, crawling, and standing/walking (10,000+ steps per shift)
    • May require working 12-hour shifts, including night shifts (Taylor site)
    • Occasional domestic travel to training facilities and customer locations

    Education:

    • Bachelor's (Preferred)

    Experience:

    • Semiconductor: 4 years (Required)
    • Maintenance: 3 years (Preferred)
    • Equipment repair: 3 years (Preferred)
    • Mechanical troubleshooting: 3 years (Preferred)
