Job description

Dishwashers are responsible for job duties that allow for a smooth-running food and beverage operation and are critical to properly executed dining service.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Clean and organize dishware, silverware, glassware, kitchen wares.
  • Operate and maintain a clear ware washer and three compartment sink washing system and understand how to check and refill necessary chemicals and routine maintenance procedures.
  • Assist kitchen with organizing and stocking inventory and keep these areas clean and organized.
  • Assist with minor food preparation such as cleaning and peeling vegetables.
  • Operate dish machines to company and manufacturer specifications.
  • Use proper measurements of detergent and sanitizer in the dish machine.
  • Restock all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans.
  • Remove all garbage.
  • Break down, clean, and sanitize the dish machine at the end of a shift.
  • Keep dish and other storage areas clean and organized.
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment.
  • Assist the cook(s) in properly labeling, covering and storing unused food after each meal.
  • Assist the cook(s) as requested in inventorying and stocking food products.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education:
  • High School or equivalent required.

Physical & Other Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Evenings, weekends and holidays are a regular part of the schedule.
  • Must have excellent attendance and conduct record for consideration.
  • Non-smoking candidates preferred.
