Job Title: Secondary Choir Teacher, Bremerton Campus

Reports To: Head of School


Job Overview: Crosspoint Christian School is seeking a Secondary Choir Teacher who is a committed follower of Jesus, called to Christian education and has experience integrating faith and learning in the classroom. This position will instruct students in the basic principles of music theory, including rhythm, melody, pitch, and tempo. They engage students in vocal exercises such as vocalization, harmonizing, and singing, and teach them how to play various musical instruments. Additionally, they lead rehearsals to prepare for the school's Christmas and Spring concerts.


As a member of the Gateway OneTeam, you will support and demonstrate an understanding of the church’s mission: Presenting Hope and Developing People. Possessing a character that reflects biblical godliness, demonstrating a meaningful personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and active involvement in a local body of Christian believers are key qualifications.

  • Job Status: Part-time, 9-11 months
  • Expected Start Date: 2026-2027 School Year
  • Exempt Status: Exempt
  • Salary Range: $6,000-$9,761

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Provide engaging, high-quality instruction in choir and fine arts, cultivating musical skill, creativity, collaboration, and a love for the arts.
  • Create a structured, encouraging classroom and rehearsal environment that promotes discipline, confidence, teamwork, and a positive performance culture.
  • Support the development of the “whole student” through intentional relationships, mentorship, and opportunities for artistic expression and growth.
  • Differentiate instruction and musical support to meet diverse learning needs and varying levels of musical experience and ability.
  • Prepare students for future success by developing strong work habits, performance skills, communication, and personal responsibility through music and ensemble participation.
  • Partner with families through clear, consistent communication regarding performances, student progress, rehearsal expectations, and classroom activities.
  • Integrate faith meaningfully into instruction and rehearsal culture, modeling Christ-centered character and guiding students to use their gifts for God’s glory.
  • Contribute to a strong secondary culture through performances, school events, collaboration with colleagues, chapel involvement, and student life activities.

EDUCATION LEVEL

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Valid teaching certificate preferred
  • Experience teaching in a secondary (middle or high school) setting preferred
