    Summary of Responsibilities
    The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW) is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Analyst 3 (SQAA3) to build and support automated testing frameworks and test suites used to verify that applications function according to user requirements and established quality standards.
    The Software Quality Assurance Analyst will develop (write code) and maintain automated tests with a strong emphasis on creating, executing, and managing automation across all testing levels, including:
    • Unit Testing
    • Functional Testing
    • Integration Testing
    • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
    • Production Deployment Validation Testing
    IDHW is looking for a candidate with demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining automated testing frameworks. The ideal candidate will have expertise in creating test plans and test scripts from the customer's perspective to ensure automation meets business requirements and delivers the expected results. The candidate should also build automation that supports reusability, sustainability, open standards, and maximizes return on investment.
    We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer with strong experience in software testing and a growing focus on AI-driven quality practices. This role combines traditional QA methodologies with modern AI/ML testing strategies, including validating AI models, automating test flows with AI-assisted tools, and improving product quality using intelligent testing frameworks.
    This project follows the Scrum (Agile) development methodology. Candidates should have demonstrated experience executing and managing automated testing within an Agile environment.
    Software QA Analyst / Tester
    Key Responsibilities
    • Develop, update, and maintain testing standards and procedures.
    • Use AI-driven tools to improve test coverage, defect detection, and regression reliability.
    • Understand test plans, test scripts, test cases, and their traceability to requirements and acceptance criteria.
    • Manage the Test Case Repository and keep test cases current.
    • Participate in collaborative working sessions to develop test plans and testing criteria.
    • Design and maintain automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, Java, and Jenkins.
    • Maintain automation frameworks and regression test suites.
    • Plan and manage test environments.
    • Analyze automated test assets and recommend improvements to testing systems, frameworks, databases, and test servers.
    • Provide solutions for executing automated tests and troubleshoot test failures.
    • Develop user-friendly automated test reporting for QA, UAT, Business, and IT Management.
    • Identify, track, and perform root cause analysis of system defects while working closely with development teams to resolve issues.
    • Partner with QA team members and architects to establish QA standards and best practices.
    • Perform and coordinate system verification and validation testing using various testing tools.
    • Execute quality assurance testing activities to ensure applications, products, and releases comply with organizational QA standards.
    Required Experience
    • Experience integrating automated testing processes.
    • Experience solving complex quality assurance and data processing problems.
    • Experience designing and implementing automated testing frameworks.
    • Web Service test automation using SoapUI.
    • Cloud and Containerization technologies ( Docker, Kubernetes).
    • Dockerizing test frameworks and executing tests using Selenium Grid or similar UI automation tools.
    • Performance and Load Testing using JMeter, Gatling, or K6.
    • Creating performance test scripts and analyzing throughput, latency, error rates, and providing recommendations.
    • API Testing and Automation using Postman, Rest Assured, or similar tools.
    • Experience testing REST and GraphQL APIs.
    • Knowledge of OAuth2, JWT authentication, Swagger, Pact, and contract testing.
    • CI/CD pipeline integration using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
    • Experience creating pipeline workflows and managing test reporting and artifacts.
    • Strong understanding of Agile software development, Continuous Integration, and automated testing.
    • Experience testing batch processes, flat-file interfaces, and web services.
    • Experience with automated regression testing strategies and tools.
