The essential functions of this role are as follows:
  • nalyze patients' nutritional status to create nutrition care plans, monitor dietary
intake and weights, and adjust as needed to support optimal nutritional outcomes.
  • Complete initial, annual, quarterly, and high-risk assessments per hospital policy to
ensure timely evaluation of patient needs.
  • Record diet histories and assessments, charts, and progress notes to maintain
ccurate clinical documentation.
  • Monitor food service operations to ensure nutritional adequacy and safe food
handling practices.
  • Ensure regulatory requirements set by Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services
(CMS) and The Joint Commission (TJC) are being met by following standardized
  • Implement evidence-based practice, interventions, and recommendations using
  • Nutrition Care Manual Standardized Terminology into daily practice to support
consistent, high-quality care.
  • Work as part of a collaborative healthcare team to ensure optimal nutritional

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
  • This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.

Difficulty of Work:
  • You will perform duties based on department guidelines and is under the direct
supervision of the Medical Director. Judgment is required in selecting guidelines and adapting alternatives. Your work is broad in scope and involves many variables in the application of dietetics principles.
Responsibility:
  • While not the final authority, incumbent must exercise judgment in applying alternatives and in conferring with medical/nursing staff and dietary supervisors related to unusual dietary problems or concerns.
  • Unusual problems or deviation from guidelines are discussed with supervisor who otherwise reviews work periodically for accomplishment of objectives.

Personal Work Relationships:
  • Works with patients, physicians and other clinical staff as required, hospital department heads, students, commercial vendors, general public and community sector.

  • This role requires the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
when necessary.

Required Qualifications
  • Current State of IN dietician license.
  • RD or DTR certification by the Commission on Dietician Registration (CDR).
  • Prior experience with the National School Luncheon Program for Children.
  • Prior experience with Medicare, Medicaid and The Joint Commission regulatory rquirements.
  • Prior experience with both adult and children population.
  • Prior experience in a resident, hospital or psychiatric facility.
  • Prior experience with Oracle Cerner.
