This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned litigation professional who enjoys managing cases from inception through trial while working closely with attorneys in a collaborative environment.

The firm offers significant flexibility with remote work. Candidates may work primarily remotely but must reside within the greater San Francisco Bay Area and be available to attend the office as needed for trial preparation, team meetings, and other in-person responsibilities.

This position offers a manageable annual billable requirement of 1,500 hours, along with a generous bonus program for exceeding billable expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employment litigation matters through all phases of the case lifecycle.

  • Draft, prepare, and organize pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, deposition notices, and trial materials.

  • Prepare and maintain case files, document productions, exhibits, chronologies, and litigation databases.

  • Coordinate document collection, review, redaction, indexing, and production in collaboration with litigation support teams.

  • Conduct factual research and assist attorneys with case strategy and preparation.

  • Summarize deposition transcripts, medical records, and other case documents.

  • Coordinate witness interviews, depositions, court reporters, experts, and other litigation logistics.

  • Manage litigation calendars and monitor court deadlines in both California state and federal courts.

  • Prepare filings and ensure compliance with applicable court rules and procedures.

  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, exhibit organization, witness coordination, and in-court support.

  • Maintain attorney calendars, schedule meetings, enter billable time, and provide additional litigation-related administrative support as needed.

  • Build strong working relationships with attorneys, clients, and outside vendors while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of employment litigation paralegal experience strongly preferred.

  • Employment law experience is required.

  • Experience supporting complex litigation in both California state and federal courts.

  • ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate required.

  • Thorough knowledge of litigation procedures, discovery, and trial preparation.

  • Experience drafting and responding to written discovery, preparing exhibits, coordinating document productions, and managing case files.

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal technology, including document management systems (such as iManage or similar), Relativity or comparable eDiscovery platforms, and legal research tools.

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced practice.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with outstanding attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff.

  • Willingness to work additional hours as needed during busy litigation and trial periods.

What the Firm Offers

  • Flexible hybrid/remote work arrangement.

  • Opportunity to work with an established national employment law practice.

  • Manageable annual billable requirement of 1,500 hours.

  • Competitive compensation plus a generous billable hour bonus program.

  • Challenging, sophisticated employment litigation matters.

  • Collaborative, team-oriented culture with long-term career growth opportunities.
