    Strengthen the Systems That Power Communities as Sr. Project Manager, Electric Utility Distribution โ€” Electric Utility Distribution Systems

    What does it take to deliver reliable electric service in an increasingly complex energy landscape? Are you motivated by the opportunity to help utilities modernize infrastructure, improve system resilience, and prepare for future growth?

    CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Project Manager, Electric Utility Distribution to join our Electric Distribution Team in Atlanta, GA or Houston, TX. In this strategic role, you will oversee initiatives that enhance the performance, reliability, and long-term sustainability of electric distribution systems. From infrastructure upgrades and system expansions to resiliency and storm-hardening efforts, you will guide projects that help utilities optimize critical assets, improve service delivery, and support the evolving needs of the communities they serve.


    • Manage all aspects of electric distribution project delivery, including scope, budget, schedule, and client relationships, while thoroughly understanding project risks and financial measures
    • Serve as a โ€œseller/doer,โ€ developing work with specific clients and leading marketing plan development for target market areas
    • Lead and mentor other Project Managers, setting vision and strategy, and supporting professional growth across the team
    • Prepare proposals, project plans, extra work authorizations, and project closeout documents
    • Track and oversee multiple projects, ensuring quality control and compliance with company standards
    • Play a key role in client contract interpretation and relationship management, ensuring all client needs are met

    • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Engineering or a related field required; Masterโ€™s degree preferred
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience, including 8 years of project management experience required
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
    • Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices
    • Advanced proficiency with engineering, project planning, and scheduling software with knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of MS Project, Primavera P6, and Deltek Vision preferred
    • Proven ability to lead teams, manage client relationships, and oversee project accounting processes
    • Experience preparing proposals and project documentation as well as interpreting client contracts
    • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred
    • Ability to travel as needed

    • Lead infrastructure programs that enhance reliability, strengthen resiliency, and improve utility service for customers and communities
    • Collaborate with experienced utility and engineering professionals to solve complex challenges and deliver meaningful results

    Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
