    Job description

    Overview
    We are looking for a motivated, practical, and solution-oriented Senior Counsel to support Catalyst Brands' growth and business operations. The structure of the legal team will provide the opportunity for you to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization and all functional areas and to make fundamental contributions with visible results. As Senior Counsel, you will support a broad range of enterprise-wide work including commercial contracts, brand protection, corporate governance, ethics and regulatory compliance, privacy and data security, and other areas. You will analyze complex legal issues assigned by members of the legal team and provide practical, business focused strategies and solutions to facilitate emerging business challenges and mitigate legal risks.
    Responsibilities
    • Manage enterprise-wide commercial contracts, including negotiating, drafting, reviewing, interpreting, and otherwise supporting direct and indirect procurement contracts for all functional areas across the company; advise and make recommendations to senior leaders regarding compliance, risk, and potential liabilities.
    • Act as a legal advisor to internal clients across finance, accounting, supply chain, merchandising, marketing, ecommerce, real estate, safety and risk, and IT functions to provide practical, actionable advice.
    • Take ownership of discrete operational and legal compliance initiatives as they arise based on changing business priorities.
    • Develop and maintain internal guidelines, toolkits, policies, template forms, and training materials for various legal and business issues across the organization.
    • Engage and manage outside counsel and other third parties as needed.
    • Manage the company's corporate compliance and ethics program.
    Qualifications
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish trust and build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders.
    • Track record of critical and creative thinking and sound judgment.
    • Exemplary written and oral communication; excellent organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently, proactively own processes and deliverables, and set/meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and efficiently manage competing deadlines and cross-functional complex projects.
    • Successful people-management, including the ability to manage up and set expectations.
    • Ability to analyze complex issues, assess risk, balance different perspectives and needs, and provide confident and concise business-focused support and solutions.
    • Ability to respond to crises and challenges with confidence, professionalism, and flexibility.
    • Ability to thrive in a high-visibility, fast-paced environment.
    • Regular in-office attendance required.
    Qualifications:
    • JD (Juris Doctor or Doctor of Jurisprudence) from an ABA-accredited law school.
    • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction (Texas preferred).
    • Three - eight years of legal experience, including experience with complex commercial litigation and/or transactions.
    • Experience with large retail, consumer products, fashion, beauty, or omnichannel commerce organizations preferred.
