Job description

Resp & Qualifications

PURPOSE: 

Defines, designs and develops system requirements.  Performs trade-off analysis of performance, life-cycle cost, risk, producibility, and other system or program requirements.  Assesses architecture and current hardware limitations, defines and designs system specifications, and evaluates input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.  Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system.  Defines system support requirements to include monitoring, capacity, staffing and patching/updating.  Analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies.  Conducts independent technical investigations in systems design.

The candidate is responsible for leading the infrastructure solution, implementation, and supporting the daily operations in Microsoft products such as Windows, Microsoft 365 suite of products, Active Directory and Exchange Server. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to be the technical lead and Exchange. This individual will be responsible for leading the day-to-day delivery and support of all  End User services infrastructures. Being the point of contact for End User Technologies. Implementing the hands-on, practical technology work needed to support solution delivery.  This work involves applying systems integration, development, system design, maintaining, configuring, administering, project management and the coordination of service. 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Installs, tunes, upgrades, troubleshoots, and maintains all computer systems relevant to the supported applications including all necessary tasks to perform operating system administration, user account management, disaster recovery strategy and networking configuration.
  • Develop and implement techniques to prevent system problems, troubleshoots incidents to recover services, and support the root cause analysis
  • Evaluates new systems by performing in-depth tests, including end-user reviews. Researches software and related products to support recommendations and purchasing. Determines systems integration issues by evaluating components; developing and completing performance tests; analyzing test data; studying project requirements; analyzing user and potential user input; evaluating similar and related products and systems. Develop system automation and system integration of business processes.  
  • Improves engineering job knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Acts as a mentor for junior and senior team members.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Leads a team utilizing a matrix management system.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Experience: 8 years proven success overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems and applications.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience as primary engineer for Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory on-premises, with expert knowledge of Internet email delivery technologies and anti-spam techniques, and hands-on experience with the data center and the Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Responsible for delivering high-quality operational support and customer service while adhering to service level agreements and ITSM processes (change, incident, problem, configuration management). This role involves interacting with internal and external clients professionally, coordinating with IT infrastructure, operations, and security teams, and implementing policies and technologies to maintain a stable environment. Candidates must demonstrate confidence in communication, resolve issues independently, support after-hours activities, and ensure timely dissemination of information across teams.
  • Experience managing Office 365 services of Exchange Online and hybrid configuration, ADFS and hybrid cloud identity, PowerShell and other automation tools, developing and implementing Identity and Access Management practices, and strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, and security.

Licenses/Certifications:
ITIL Foundations v3  within 180 Days Preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Knowledge of programming languages and web based technologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to collaborate to solve technical problems across teams.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate to gather technical requirements, interpret business and technical needs. Build technical design based on architectural patterns and seek governance board approval and guide other team members to implement and support.
  • A detail-oriented candidate with strong communication, soft skill to manage customers, provide on-call support during afterhours and weekends, build necessary documentation along with strong background in security best practices especially around credential and privileged access.
  • Takes the leadership role for projects, build a project plan along with the communication plan and drive the quality deliverables. 
  • This position is subject to a Level 6C security requirement which includes but is not limited to, information confidentiality, HIPPA, Sarbans Oxley and code of conduct policies.


Salary Range: 115,128 - 228,657
