Job description

Position Title: Outside Sales Representative
The Outside Sales Representative position seeks an individual who is driven and adept at engaging with clients in an educational environment. This role involves traveling to various universities to establish connections with professors and address their needs, ultimately promoting non-tangible products. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to various situations. This position offers a supportive work culture that values personal development and teamwork. Successful candidates will navigate a dynamic sales cycle while managing client relationships effectively.
Responsibilities:
  • Travel to universities within designated territories to engage with professors
  • Initiate conversations to identify clients' needs and pain points
  • Schedule and conduct meetings, aiming for multiple client interactions
  • Manage the sales cycle, including scheduling demos and follow-up meetings
  • Oversee the publication process post-sale, ensuring timely delivery and quality
  • Participate in project planning meetings with authors
  • Conduct pre-work during off-peak seasons to prepare for upcoming sales
  • Document and submit necessary paperwork related to sales and projects
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients throughout the sales process
  • Travel up to 30% of the time for training and client meetings

Requirements:
  • At least 2-3 years of outside sales experience
  • Experience selling non-tangible products, such as insurance or time shares
  • Willingness to travel
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Valid driver's license
  • No OWI/DUI in the past 5 years or 3+ driving violations
  • Publishing experience is preferred
