Electro-Mechanical Technician Senior Second Shift - Millennium Space Systems

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic team in El Segundo, California.

The Electro-Mechanical Technician Senior will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in support of manufacturing of space flight sub-systems and support equipment.

This position's internal job code isElectro-Mechanical Technician. Our team is currently hiring for grade24.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Electro-Mechanical assembly of PCB assemblies into product chassis
  • AssembleElectro-Mechanical assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, and standard operating procedures
  • Use precision calibrated tools - torque wrenches, micrometers and calipers
  • Perform visually inspect of Electro-Mechanical assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly, integration and test procedures
  • Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications
  • Document non-conformances and associated rework/repair
  • Soldering and reworking of through-hole and SMT components
  • Support conformal coat, masking, epoxy application and coating

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Shift:

This position is primarily 2nd shift; however, there may be additional shift requirements to support program objectives. Candidates must be able to work any shift assigned.

Union:

  • This is an hourly union-represented position governed by the Cabinet Makers, Millmen and Industrial Carpenters Union (CMM&IC Local 721).
  • New hires and employees transferring from non-union roles may be required to attend or complete training within their 90-day probationary period. Continued employment is contingent on successfully completing the probationary period.

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An Interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post Start is required.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
  • More than 3 years of experience in electronics, electro-mechanical and printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies
  • More than 3 years of experience in Electro-Mechanical assembly on high reliability products
  • More than 3 years of experience working with ESD, IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 standards
  • More than 3 years of experience with soldering
  • More than 3 years of experience reading blueprints, working with manufacturing plans, and reviewing instructions for aerospace manufacturing processes
  • Capable of lifting 20lbs or more on a frequent basis
  • Ability to stand and move (reach, bend, or stoop) to handle products for extended periods of time with only short breaks

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • More than 5 years of experience building a variety of component-level space products (e.g. avionics boxes, batteries, mechanisms, optics, printed circuit board assemblies, solar arrays, etc.)
  • More than 3 years of experience using structures hand tools, test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers
  • More than 3 years of experience working in a Clean Room environment
  • More than 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
  • Currently hold a IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification
  • More than 3 years of experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems
