Job description

Job Summary:
Peoples Gas is the fastest growing natural gas utility in the Southeast, offering diverse career opportunities. They are seeking a Manager Analytics & AI who will be responsible for delivering high-value decision intelligence use cases to improve operational efficiency and business outcomes through data, analytics, and AI.
Responsibilities:
• Owns decision intelligence use cases end‑to‑end, serving as the accountable owner for problem framing through initial production deployment and early adoption — ensuring solutions are embedded into operational workflows and drive intended business outcomes.
• Applies value‑based judgment to use cases, balancing expected business impact, safety and operational risk, and delivery effort to guide trade‑offs and execution decisions.
• Works directly with business and operational leaders to translate needs, decision context, constraints, risks, and success measures into appropriate analytical and applied AI approaches within approved capabilities, platforms, methods, and governance standards.
• Applies sufficient depth across data platforms, analytics, automation, AI, and solution architecture to challenge assumptions, evaluate design choices, and provide technical direction.
• Design and build analytical logic, features, and workflows using SQL, Python, and analytics tooling, either directly or through integrated delivery with other developers.
• Ensures solutions adhere to enterprise AI governance, model risk management, monitoring, and change‑control practices, including performance tracking and documentation suitable for audit and regulatory review.
• Partners with change enablement throughout design and delivery to align on readiness criteria, communications and training needed, and stakeholder engagement — driving adoption and ensuring designed outcomes are realized beyond the workflow enablement and operational handoff.
• Ensures solutions are explainable, auditable, and suitable for operational and regulatory scrutiny.
• Refines and improves solutions based on observed performance, user feedback, and evolving business needs.
• Contributes an analytics and AI perspective to strategic initiatives by sharing capabilities, lessons learned, and technical judgment to inform design choices, feasibility, and risk considerations.
• Provides performance coaching to assigned team members through regular engagement, progression towards goals, and career discussions.
• Contributes to a future-ready culture by modeling strong decision intelligence practices, safe experimentation, continuous learning, fostering transparency, and helping enable the workforce with improved analytics and AI capabilities.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelors’ degree in Business or related field from an accredited institution.
• 7 years of experience related to delivering analytics or decision support solutions, including experience deploying solutions into production environments.
• 3 years of leading people or teams.
• Strong analytical judgment and problem‑framing skills. Ability to design decision solutions that are explainable, reliable, auditable, and suitable for regulated environments.
• Strong hands‑on skills with SQL and Python.
• Effectively presents technically complex information.
• Process driven and continuous improvement focus is essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Interpersonal, coaching and project management skills.
Preferred:
• Master’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
• Microsoft Certified Professional, Big Data Science Professional, and/or PMP certification.
• 2 years of experience applying AI or advanced analytics techniques (e.g., machine learning, optimization, decision automation, or AI‑assisted analytics) in real business use cases.
• Experience with modern analytical data platforms, including Snowflake.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft AI capabilities (e.g., Azure AI services, Copilot, Power Platform, or related tools).
• Experience in a regulated industry.
