Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, you will play a crucial role in assessing and treating individuals, couples, and families. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments and developing tailored treatment plans for clients.
  • Facilitating therapy sessions with couples as well as individual sessions to address various concerns.
  • Specializing in family dynamics, including:
    • Alcohol abuse and its impact on family relationships.
    • Addressing physical and psychological abuse within family contexts.
    • Providing support for grief and loss issues affecting the family unit.
    • Resolving conflicts among family members and siblings.
    • Managing cut-offs and estrangement issues between family members.
    • Assisting clients in coping with job stress and its effect on personal relationships.
    • Supporting families dealing with medical issues and their emotional repercussions.
    • Offering guidance for blended families in the context of remarriage.
    • Helping clients adjust to separation and divorce, including the associated emotional challenges.
    • Facilitating communication between mothers and daughters through conflict resolution strategies.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse range of clients, including adults, children, and adolescents. Your expertise will be critical in addressing complex family relationships and navigating the various challenges they face. We aim to provide a safe and therapeutic space for clients to express themselves, learn coping strategies, and foster improved family dynamics.

Qualifications

To ensure our clients receive the best possible care, we are seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications:

  • A valid Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) designation.
  • Possession of an active state license to practice therapy.
  • A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is required.
Preferred Experience

While we encourage applications from recently licensed professionals, a history of experience in family therapy, trauma-informed care, and handling complex relationship issues is highly desirable. Applicants should have the flexibility to work 30 hours or more per week and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and client care excellence.
