    Job description

    Audubon is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in our Houston, TX Office. The Mechanical Engineer will support the design, specification, and evaluation of mechanical equipment for capital projects. You'll prepare equipment deliverables, review vendor documents, and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure reliable, code-compliant designs.
    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Prepare datasheets, specifications, and requisitions for rotating and static equipment (pumps, compressors, vessels, heat exchangers, tanks)
    • Perform equipment sizing, selection, and technical bid evaluations
    • Review vendor drawings and documents for compliance with project requirements
    • Coordinate with process, piping, and civil/structural disciplines on equipment interface
    • Support construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities
    • Ensure designs comply with API, ASME, and project standards

    Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:
    • All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies' Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. This includes:
    • Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
    • Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
    • Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
    • Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (PE or progress toward licensure a plus)
    • 4-8 years of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial projects
    • Working knowledge of API 610/617/650, ASME Section VIII, and related codes
    • Experience with technical bid evaluations and vendor document review
    • Strong communication and multidiscipline coordination skills
