Job description

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for an Acquisition Specialist in support of Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (SOF AT&L) Program Executive Office – Maritime (PEO-M).

PEO-M develops, acquires, and sustains maritime capabilities that enable SOF operations in littoral and maritime environments. The organization supports mission execution through the rapid delivery and lifecycle management of specialized maritime platforms, systems, and enabling technologies—coordinating across government, industry, and operational stakeholders to ensure capability readiness, compliance, and performance.

This is a full-time opportunity located at MacDill AFB, FL


  • Collect and analyze metrics and requirements from supported organizations
  • Develop elements of program acquisition strategies
  • Support and/or conduct portions of market research
  • Keep program information current and organize data to submit to management for decision-making
  • Prepare reports and briefings on program status, policies, and procedures, in support of acquisition program milestones
  • Support cost/benefit analysis
  • Analyze effectiveness and efficiency of programs; develop recommendations to improve program operations
  • Assist in answering data calls and inquiries on program policies and procedures
  • Participate in the requirements development process in support of Senior Managers and Government counterparts
  • Monitor programs to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Assist in managing program cost, schedule, performance, and risks in accordance with policies and procedures; formulate proposed mitigations as necessary
  • Coordinate program information with internal and external stakeholders
  • Interpret regulations and directives to determine the impact on programs
  • Determine requirements; develop goals and objectives to accomplish the mission of the program
  • Support Government counterparts to ensure execution of programs in accordance with plans, and to modify program policies and procedures based on changes to regulations
  • Research ways to eliminate program bottlenecks and barriers to production; support Government counterparts in the development of solutions to program issues
  • Oversee the allocation of resources based on program requirements
  • Draft fiscal year spend plans to meet OSD goals
  • Draft required program documentation based on ACAT-level designation

Minimum Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS w/SCI eligibility
Certifications: DAWIA Advanced Equivalency (DAWIA Level III equivalent) in Engineering, Program Management, or Science and Technology (S&T)

Years of Experience: Minimum of 10 years working in DoD acquisition programs to include:

  • Maritime Acquisition Program Management experience
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques of fact-finding, analysis, and resolution of complex contracting problems, and the ability to develop concrete action plans to solve problems
  • Working knowledge of the Defense Acquisition System as directed by DoD Instruction 5000.02, “Operation of the Defense Acquisition System”
  • Working knowledge of the Defense Acquisition Framework process

Desired: Knowledge of SOF-unique acquisition processes.
