Job description

Identify and pursue opportunities to grow the marine surveying, inspection and testing business in USA and internationally. Complete marine surveying jobs in the US and other international locations and ensure that customer requirements are understood and met, and that work is conducted in accordance with the customer's expectations and AmSpec's procedures. Lead the marketing and business development efforts of AmSpec CR Cox in the US; Work closely with the Marine General Manager in Australia and other international AmSpec Australia representatives to identify target customers, arrange meetings to define requirements, develop offers and secure appointments; Participate in, and contribute to international networking efforts and relationship building; Monitor the market and competitor activity to identify upcoming opportunities; identify critical opportunities within existing customer base; Attend to marine surveying and field operations in US and other locations as required and liaise with international operations in Australia until completion; and Participate in and contribute to marketing efforts internationally.
Must have Master Mariner Class 1 certificate. 2 years' experience in any occupation which includes the required experience/skills. 85% domestic travel and 15% international travel to various ports. Experience must include: 2 years' experience as Captain on board ship in worldwide trade as evidenced by a Seaman's Continuous Discharge Certificate; 2 years' experience with ship operation and chartering; 1 year experience with handling vessel surveys and holds readiness; and 1 year experience with vessel safety inspection in accordance with International Marine Organization. 5 days/40hrs/wk.
