Job Title: Global Procurement & Strategic Business Manager
Role Overview
We are seeking a Global Procurement & Strategic Business Manager to serve as the primary link between our internal business units and our global procurement centers of excellence. This role is a strategic "broker" of services, responsible for ensuring that global sourcing strategies are tailored to meet local business needs while driving significant competitive advantage.
This is a senior-level role for a "business-first" procurement leader. You will act as the "Voice of the Customer," translating enterprise-wide strategies into actionable plans for individual departments. If you are an expert negotiator who understands how to operate in a highly matrixed environment, influence senior stakeholders, and balance "Global Thinking" with "Local Execution," this is an ideal role for you.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Relationship Management
• Business Partnering: Build and maintain deep relationships with internal spend owners and department heads. Translate business strategy into robust sourcing initiatives.
• Category Strategy: Partner with global category leaders to ensure enterprise strategies reflect the specific technical and financial requirements of the business units.
• Performance & Compliance: Monitor supplier quality and performance. Escalate non-compliance issues and take a lead role in driving measurable cost savings and vendor-led innovation.
Brokerage & Process Alignment
• The "Feedback Loop": Act as the single point of contact between global centers of excellence and local leadership. Ensure a bi-directional flow of requirements and feedback.
• Process Governance: Own the alignment of local operating procedures with global standards. Identify deviations, streamline decision-rights, and update process maps to drive organizational clarity.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with Finance and FP&A teams to oversee the strategic planning of third-party engagements and ensure spend initiatives align with approved budgets.
Negotiation & Execution
• Expert Negotiation: Develop and execute high-stakes negotiation strategies. Lead the finalization of complex commercial agreements and ensure legal terms are optimized for business benefit.
• Project Management: Manage multi-business unit initiatives. Adhere to stakeholder timelines and facilitate teamwork across complex corporate boundaries.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field (MBA preferred).
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in global sourcing, procurement, or category management.
• Complex Organization Experience: Proven success working within a large, global, highly matrixed organization.
• Negotiation & Legal: Extensive knowledge of commercial agreement structures and legal terms; expert-level negotiation skills.
• Communication: Exceptional ability to influence senior executives and act as a change agent in a complex corporate structure.
Preferred Attributes
• Procurement certifications (e.g., CPSM or CSCP) are highly valued.
• "Account Management" mindset-you treat your internal departments as your clients.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands and establish the "appropriate balance" between standardized global processes and local business flexibility.
