Job Description

The Travel and Intel Analyst will serve as the administrator and developer for the team's intelligence tool suite. This role is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and enhancing the platforms that power travel risk monitoring, threat intelligence, and data visibility, ensuring the MSOC has dependable, well-tuned tools to support a scaling 24/7 operation.

Salary: $80,000 / Year

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Those duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position.  Other duties may be assigned:

  • Partner with MSOC leadership, analysts, travel stakeholders, and technology teams to define requirements for the growing travel security capability and translate them into tool configurations and workflows.
  • Serve as the primary SME for the MSOC's intelligence tool suite (e.g., threat intelligence, critical event management, mass communications, travel risk, and social media monitoring platforms), managing user access, permissions, licensing, and system configuration.
  • Configure and tune alerting logic, watchlists, geofences, and monitoring rules within intel tools to improve relevance and reduce noise for travel security and broader MSOC monitoring use cases.
  • Onboard integrations between intel platforms, travel management systems, and other enterprise data sources to create a unified, reliable view of traveler location, exposure, and risk.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and data visualizations within the intel tool suite that give MSOC leadership and stakeholders timely insight into travel risk, incidents, and program performance.
  • Support the design and continuous improvement of the travel risk lifecycle-pre-travel assessment, active monitoring, incident response, escalation, and post-event review, by shaping how tools are configured to support each stage.
  • Own ongoing administration tasks for intel tools, including software updates, license renewals, vendor coordination, data feed troubleshooting, and system health monitoring.
  • Evaluate new modules, features, and data sources for existing intel tools, and pilot enhancements that expand travel security or data visibility capabilities.
  • Document tool configurations, administrative procedures, data flows, and standard operating procedures to support continuity, audits, and onboarding of new users.
  • Apply appropriate access controls, privacy practices, and data-handling standards when administering tools that contain employee travel and security information.
  • Train MSOC analysts on new tool capabilities, configuration changes, and best practices to drive consistent adoption and effective use of the intel tool suite.
  • Provide tool administration and technical support during significant incidents or periods of elevated travel security activity.
  • Stay current on capabilities and roadmap developments across the MSOC's intel tool vendors and evaluate relevant enhancements for travel security and data

Formal Education, Licenses, and Certifications Required:

 

  • Must possess a Bachelors degree or higher security studies, intelligence, information systems, data analytics, geographic information systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required:

 

  • Must possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience with security systems to include basic programming and operations management OR a Masters degree in a Computer Science related discipline.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate travel security or operational requirements into tool configurations, alerting logic, dashboards, monitoring rules, and escalation workflows.
  • Experience building and supporting AI-enabled solutions
  • Working knowledge of AI, automation, data analytics, or workflow tools used to streamline monitoring, triage, reporting, and operational decision support.
  • Ability to design and administer operational processes that support traveler concentration risk monitoring, exception management, enforcement, documentation, and escalation.
  • Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Microsoft Power BI
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively with leadership, analysts, and technology teams.
  • Ability to provide support during significant incidents or outside normal business hours when operational needs require it.

  • Direct experience with specific security tool suite platforms such as Lenel, Dataminr, Horizon, or comparable travel risk, threat intelligence, and critical event management systems.
  • Experience configuring integrations, APIs, or data feeds between intelligence platforms and travel management or enterprise data systems.
  • Experience building solutions with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, or related Microsoft 365 technologies.
  • Self-driven and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks within defined deadlines
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly
  • Has cultural awareness and sensitivity

  • Office setting with minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures
  • Major activities include interfacing with site and contractor personnel; working on PC while sitting; telephone use
