Job description

Looking for more than just a job? Start a career with long-term growth, strong pay progression, and real advancement opportunities. Ag Processing Inc (AGP) is seeking motivated individuals who want to build a future in a stable, essential industry.

As a Boiler Operator, this person will be responsible forthe operation and maintenance of boiler operations for the plant. In addition, this individual will assure continuous functioning of steam, air, water, and wastewater systems of the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain the boiler and plant ancillary equipment in an energy and cost-effective manner.

  • Maintain supplies and inventory and perform general housekeeping functions to ensure an efficient workflow. Use forklift, bobcat, or similar equipment for the transfer of chemicals and sanitation.

  • Sample, mix, and maintain proper chemical balances of boiler. Check release of chlorine into outside sources to ensure within tolerance of federal, state and/or local ordinances

  • Read, record, test, and document information from gauges, meters, charts and testing of various equipment to ensure temperature and pressures are within established parameters.

  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment as required.

  • Test emergency equipment and prepare boiler for annual inspection

Requirements:

  • High school diploma

  • Safety conscientious with the knowledge of safety precautions and procedures including emergency startup and shutdown.

  • Knowledge of construction and maintenance practices and procedures.

  • Knowledge of the Hazard Communications Standard and PSM.

  • Skill in watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine or system is working properly.

  • Skill in operating a forklift, pallet jack and material handling equipment.

  • Mathematical skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple work assignments.

  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Team player

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
