Work Environment

This full-time position operates within a home care setting, offering the flexibility and intimacy necessary for effective therapy. You will be an integral part of a professional team comprised of two physical therapists and one physical therapy assistant (PTA). Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess patients’ physical capabilities, establishing goals that align with their needs and desires.
• Manage an efficient caseload, providing individualized care to one patient per hour, ensuring optimal attention and treatment.
• Utilize your specialized training in orthopedic physical therapy to deliver innovative treatment solutions that focus on improving patient mobility and reducing pain.
• Provide educational resources to patients regarding treatment strategies that may lessen their dependence on medication and surgical interventions.
• Create comprehensive care plans that encompass a variety of therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy and exercise protocols.
• Design personalized fitness and wellness programs that cater to the specific rehabilitation needs of each patient.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress to ensure a coherent treatment process.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care, coordinating efforts to achieve the best patient outcomes.
• Motivate and encourage patients throughout their treatment process, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery.
• Evaluate treatment effectiveness through performance assessments and adjust care plans as necessary.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your expertise will primarily benefit individuals navigating the challenges of orthopedic issues. This includes patients recovering from surgery, managing chronic pain conditions, or those looking to enhance their physical function after injuries. You will play a crucial role in addressing a range of needs, from injury recovery to mobility enhancement, ultimately assisting our community members in living more active, fulfilling lives.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy or an equivalent credential, with preference given to those who have completed a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT).
• Valid Physical Therapist license in Virginia, with a clean professional record free from board actions or disciplinary measures.
• Demonstrated proficiency in manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise protocol development.
• Experience in outpatient orthopedic settings, with at least two years of relevant practice.
• Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as WebPT to document clinical findings and treatment progress effectively.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of experience as a Physical Therapist is required, candidates with advanced certifications in orthopedic physical therapy or sports medicine will be favorably considered. Those who have experience creating tailored rehabilitation programs inclusive of the latest evidence-based interventions will excel in this position.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 120,000 to 140,000, commensurate with experience and educational qualifications.
