Our client is a non-profit. They seek a temp-to-perm Supervisor of Finance and Operations to join their Manhattan, NY, office.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate financial trends impacting the bottom line and recommend operational improvements through rigorous analytical procedures
- Compile and validate program budgets, actual variances, projections, accruals, allocations, and journal entries to ensure accuracy and balanced budgets
- Advise the Director during regular meetings with Program Directors by providing guidance, interpreting fiscal data, and supporting portfolio management
- Authorize program purchases and oversee salary, fringe, and OTPS allocations, ensuring adherence to approved methodologies
- Collaborate with program management to optimize contract funding based on financial insights
- Maintain thorough knowledge of funder requirements, guidelines, cost manuals, and policies to ensure compliance
- Produce CFR and other external reporting, including all supporting schedules
- Lead, cross-train, and assess assigned staff
- Monitor monthly billings, track revenue collections, record journal entries, and optimize cash flow strategies
- Streamline the monthly deliverable calendar, refine the billing matrix for cash flow projections, and ensure strong adherence to government billing guidelines and cost manuals
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance
- 5+ years of relevant billing, budget, and financial analysis experience
- 2+ years in a supervisory capacity
- Knowledge and ability to use in-house PC-based accounting system in a network environment, including the ability to create, run, and verify reports
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects under deadlines
- Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and conceptual skills required
- CPA/MBA is a plus
