What You Can Expect

The Associate Director, CMF Product Management is responsible for providing strategic and organizational leadership for Zimmer Biomet's Craniomaxillofacial (CMF) product portfolio while leading a team of Product Managers and Associate Product Managers. This role establishes the commercial vision for the portfolio, develops long-term growth strategies, and ensures successful execution of product development, commercialization, lifecycle management, and market expansion initiatives.

As the commercial leader for the CMF business, the Associate Director partners closely with Research & Development, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Medical Education, Sales, and Executive Leadership to align business priorities and deliver sustainable growth. The role is accountable for identifying unmet customer needs, evaluating new market opportunities, developing business cases, directing commercialization strategies, and driving financial performance across the portfolio.

The Associate Director builds organizational capability by developing high-performing marketing professionals, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and creating a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. This leader serves as the primary commercial voice for the CMF portfolio, influencing strategic decisions across the organization while representing Zimmer Biomet with key opinion leaders, strategic customers, and executive stakeholders.

How You'll Create Impact

Portfolio Strategy & Business Leadership

  • Develop and execute the long-term commercial strategy for the CMF portfolio, aligning portfolio investments with corporate growth objectives.
  • Establish portfolio priorities, product roadmaps, lifecycle strategies, and commercialization plans that maximize market growth and profitability.
  • Lead Voice of Customer (VOC) initiatives, competitive intelligence, market assessments, and strategic planning activities.
  • Develop executive-level business cases, investment recommendations, acquisition assessments, and financial models supporting portfolio decisions.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, healthcare economics, and emerging technologies to proactively position the business for future growth.
  • Serve as the commercial leader responsible for portfolio performance, market share growth, and long-term strategic direction.

People Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing Product Management organization through effective performance management, career development, and succession planning.
  • Establish clear objectives, accountability, and development plans that align team performance with organizational priorities.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop future marketing leaders by providing coaching, feedback, and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives while building engagement and maintaining high team performance.

Product Development & Commercialization

  • Direct upstream marketing activities from concept through commercialization, ensuring alignment across R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, and Operations.
  • Lead global and regional product launches, commercialization planning, pricing strategy, positioning, and market readiness.
  • Ensure successful execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) activities across the organization.
  • Drive portfolio optimization through lifecycle management, product rationalization, and innovation planning.
  • Partner with Medical Education and Sales leadership to develop training strategies that improve commercial effectiveness.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Financial Performance

  • Partner with Finance to develop annual operating plans, long-range forecasts, portfolio investment strategies, and financial performance reviews.
  • Lead executive business reviews and portfolio governance discussions.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain to optimize inventory, product availability, and launch readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, legal, and quality requirements.
  • Represent Marketing in cross-functional leadership forums and enterprise initiatives.

External Leadership & Strategic Partnerships

  • Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), strategic customers, professional societies, and industry partners.
  • Represent Zimmer Biomet at national and international conferences, advisory boards, and customer meetings.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership by providing market insights and commercial recommendations.
  • Champion innovation by identifying new technologies, partnership opportunities, and acquisition targets that strengthen the CMF portfolio.

Your Background
  • Bachelor's degree required in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related discipline.
  • MBA or other advanced business degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in product management, marketing, commercialization, engineering, clinical, sales, or related healthcare disciplines preferred
  • Majority of professional experience within the medical device, orthopedic, or healthcare industry preferred.
  • Previous experience leading and developing high-performing teams preferred
  • Demonstrated success leading complex product portfolios and commercialization strategies.
  • Experience developing executive-level business cases, strategic plans, and financial models.
  • Experience influencing senior leadership and leading cross-functional organizations in highly regulated environments.
