ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Position Summary:
Yamada North America, a successful and established manufacturer of automobile components, seeks a take charge and results-oriented Accounting Manager. The individual will be responsible for directing company accounting functions and leading the accounting department. The individual will also supervise assistant accounting managers and oversee the monthly closing process and financial statements/reports and the monthly budgeting process. Additionally, the individual will manage the consolidation and reporting on monthly/annual department budgets and company cash including ST amp; LT loans, establish and maintain accounting procedures and internal controls, provide accounting assistance to corporate HQ and internal top management, direct the annual and semi-annual audit process, and prepare financial reports and analysis to top management as needed.
Essential Functions amp; Duties:
* Oversees monthly closing process, including financial statement preparation.
* Manages the monthly budgeting process and consolidates departmental budgets. Prepares budget variance analysis and reports findings to management. Responsible for annual and semi-annual budgeting.
* Directs the annual and semi-annual audit process.
* Supervises cash including short term and long-term loans.
* Oversees all accounting and treasury activities.
* Manages the assistant accounting managers and all accounting associates.
* Develops and maintains strong system of internal controls, policies, and procedures.
* Provides financial reporting assistance to corporate headquarters and top management on a regular basis.
* Reviews monthly and ad-hoc reports for top management.
* Develops and implements routine administrative policies and procedures.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Functions:
* Interacts with vendors, government officials, auditors, management personnel and other associates in a variety of settings.
* Maintains a clean and orderly working environment.
* Continuously seeks to improve processes, procedures, programs, etc.
* Promotes a safe and healthy working environment for all Associates.
Requirements:
BS in Accounting or Finance, MBA/CPA a plus.
Minimum five years supervisory experience of accounting, auditing, finance or equivalent in a fast-paced environment; manufacturing required and automotive desired.
Working knowledge of GAAP and good understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws pertaining to accounting responsibilities and tax requirements.
Must possess solid understanding of internal controls, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, fixed assets, general ledger, closing, budgeting, cost accounting, and treasury management.
Excellent interpersonal, time-management, organizational, and project management skills.
Ability to be a self-starter, multi-task, meet all deadlines, and work in a team environment.
High level proficiency in all MS-Office Suite Applications.
Good professional appearance.
Able to work alone or with others on a broad variety of projects.
Outstanding presentation skills and effective communicator using both proper verbal and written language.
Ability to maintain confidential information, display good judgment, exhibit strong decision-making skills, and be persuasive.
Must be able to type, bend, twist, reach, perform repetitive arm movements, lift up to 30 pounds, stand on concrete for extended periods of time, work mandatory overtime, and withstand various temperature ranges.
Occasional travel may be required. A valid license is required for use of company car.
