Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following:

  • Loads and unloads trucks as needed, using lift trucks and overhead cranes.
  • Pulls orders from, and places orders in inventory as needed.
  • Weighs/counts parts as needed and properly tags for stock movement.
  • Prepares parts for shipping by wrapping and banding parts to skids as needed.
  • Completes packing list and bill of ladings as needed. Completes outside processing paperwork and shipper as needed.
  • Makes and sets up boxes/dunnage as necessary
  • Adheres to Wolverine Metal Stampings tagging procedures. (makes sure all parts being moved are properly labeled/tagged and that labels/tags are easily read from floor if parts are put on shelf)
  • Assists in moving material from production to Shipping and Receiving, as required.
  • Removes dispositioned scrap from discrepant area to appropriate scrap hoppers. Weighs and counts, as necessary.
  • Runs part number labels for production.
  • Moves empty raw material skids to trailer or outside for pick up.
  • Maintains orderly and properly stocked warehouse, both parts and dunnage
  • Inspects all incoming parts/raw material for any damage or discrepancies per policy
  • Maintains orderly and properly stocked raw material within the plant
  • Assumes certain responsibilities for employee safety by proper lift truck operation and keeping aisles and pathways clear and by placing materials in appropriate places and at appropriate levels.
  • Checks fluid levels for all shipping lift trucks weekly
  • Prepares daily UPS shipment
  • Prepares dunnage totals report weekly
  • Creates and transmits, as required, ASN labels
  • Backs up shipping assistant - shipping log, and paperwork generation for packslips and Bill of Ladings
  • Backs up truck driver, as Chauffeur's License allows
  • Assists with physical inventory as needed.
  • Assists in general interior and exterior housekeeping responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned by Materials Manager
