Job description
WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care to a behavioral health and substance abuse population. The Registered Nurse will complete medical assessments and brief histories on all clients admitted to the program and will monitor and coordinate follow-up care as directed by the Program Director. A qualified candidate must have a minimum of 1 year of experience providing direct patient care to a behavioral/mental health population.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete screening, assessments, and care of every client seeking SCSC services (Adults/Youth/Children).
- Evaluate the severity of withdrawal symptoms using established screening tools (if appropriate to Substance Use clients).
- Coordinate delivery and reception of medications with the pharmacy.
- Document all medications received and coordinate management of the meds while the client is at SCSC.
- Observe self-administration of medications.
- Monitor withdrawal symptoms during detoxification according to established protocols.
- Refer for required medical services as appropriate (Internal & External).
- Provide education and consultation to individual clients and/or groups on their health needs.
- Assure clients' compliance with prescribed medical regimens.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation on medical services rendered.
- Complete all clinical documentation in EHR.
- File all documents in the clients' charts upon completion.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and coordinate replenishment with the Office Manager.
Required Education and Experience
- Masters in Nursing preferred, Bachelors required, with NYS RN license.
- Knowledge of psychiatric disorders and chemical dependency preferred.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Assessment and case management experience.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) speaking preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Requirement
- Behavioral/mental health, substance abuse, detox/rehab, assessment, or related case management experience.
- 1 full year RN experience.
- Experience working on a team and independently.
