Job description

  • PAY: ($25.65 - $35.50) + $3,000 Sign & Stay Bonus

  • 3rd: 9:00PM - 5:30 AM

  • BENEFITS: Available first day of hire

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Primarily responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of various mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and conveying systems/types of industrial equipment for poultry processing plant. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance using blueprints and diagrams to verify that all equipment is operating within required specifications and tolerances. May perform periodic testing and inspections, troubleshooting and repairs. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Under general supervision, repair and perform preventative maintenance on industrial machinery (i.e. mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, conveying systems, etc) using blueprint and schematic drawings to ensure equipment is performing safely to required specifications
  • Identify root cause of basic mechanical issues and performs repairs by welding, fabricating parts, basic pipefitting or replacing defective component; notify appropriate personnel if further attention is required
  • Identify unsafe conditions and corrects; reports to appropriate personnel if unable to correct on own
  • Assist with maintaining a file of blueprints and operating manuals and procedures as needed
  • Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations
  • All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Pass NOCTI Mechanical/Electrical test, Level 1 required

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in industrial machine predictive and preventative maintenance or demonstrated applicable mechanical and electrical knowledge
  • Intermediate math and computer skills
  • Ability to operate/use basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
  • Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Stand up to 8 hours
  • Lift up to 60 lbs
  • May be exposed to heat (99F, 37C) and cold (45F, 4C)
  • Exposure to wet and dusty environment
  • Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawling
  • Roll and push buggies (~1,000 lbs.)
  • Work around raw, live animal odors
