Job description

Worthington Steel is hiring experienced Forklift Operators to join our team. If you're a safe, dependable forklift operator looking for competitive pay, quarterly profit sharing, Day 1 benefits, and long-term career growth, we'd love to meet you.

As a Forklift Operator, you'll safely transport large steel coils throughout our modern manufacturing facility, support production operations, and help ensure our steel processing lines run safely, efficiently, and with the highest quality standards. You'll be part of a team-oriented culture where safety comes first and hard work is recognized.

Compensation

  • Starting pay: $21.00 per hour or more, based on experience and skills
  • $1.50/hour shift premium for 2nd shift
  • $1,500 sign-on bonus
  • Quarterly profit sharing averaging $6,000 to $10,000 per year
  • Attendance bonuses up to $1,250 annually
  • Overtime paid at time and a half, with double time after 48 hours per week

What You'll Do

  • Safely transport large steel coils throughout the facility using a forklift
  • Stage material at production equipment to keep operations running efficiently
  • Support production by removing scrap tubs and clearing finished product from processing lines
  • Perform quality checks and accurately move finished product into inventory
  • Assist with material handling and other daily production activities as needed
  • Follow all safety procedures while operating forklifts and other heavy equipment

What We're Looking For

  • Previous forklift operating experience required
  • Ability to perform physical, repetitive work, including getting on and off a forklift throughout the shift
  • Basic math, computer, and communication skills
  • Ability to read work instructions and communicate effectively in a manufacturing environment
  • Commitment to following all safety and quality procedures
  • Strong work ethic with a team-first attitude

Shift Information

  • Training begins on 1st shift
  • Must be flexible to work either:
    • 1st Shift: 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    • 2nd Shift: 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
  • Fixed 8-hour shifts with paid lunch
  • No rotating shifts
  • Saturday overtime as needed
