  • Seasonal (April-October): Monday and Friday 7:00am-6:00pm, Tuesday through Thursday 8:00am-6:00pm, and Saturday 8:00am-5:00pm
Olde Towne Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time experienced Veterinarian to provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care to a variety of animals, including cats, dogs, reptiles, birds, guinea pigs, and more.
We are a place people genuinely want to work, reflected in our tenured team with many staff members who have been here for 25+ years and some for over 40 years. Our hospital offers a fun, supportive work environment where collaboration, respect, and strong relationships are part of everyday life.
What to Expect
  • A schedule that respects your time. Our last appointment is typically at 4:30pm during the non-seasonal months and 5:20pm during the busier April through October season. There are no on-call duties or holiday requirements. That said, this is a team that says yes to patients and the community, so there may be occasional days when you stay a bit later for a last-minute need rather than heading out right at the end of your shift.
  • A 2-to-1 staff to doctor ratio. You will have the support-and respect-you need to be excellent for our patients. Our team currently consists of 5 DVMs, 3 full-time experienced LVTs, 11 veterinary assistants, 10 receptionists.
  • All the benefits you deserve-health, dental, vision, retirement-plus: sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, pet discounts, uniform allowance, CE allowance, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP), plus we will cover your dues, license fees and AVMA-PLIT!
  • Paid time off. Enjoy Paid Time Off (PTO), paid holidays, and paid CE days each year, giving you time to recharge and step away when needed.
  • Partnership opportunities through Veterinary Practice Partners (VPP), where more than 260 partners co-own practices across 200 locations. This includes a clear buy-in and ownership opportunity. VPP offers unmatched support in operations, marketing, and finance, allowing you to focus on your passion for veterinary medicine.
Available Work Models
Choose the structure that fits your life. All models include no on-call or holiday shifts, access to a hospital car for transport between the train and hospital, and schedule customization to support LIRR commute timing.
  • Option 1: Traditional Year-Round Full-Time
    • 4-5 days per week, targeting 30-40 hours per week year-round
  • Option 2: "Summer-Full, Winter-Free"
    • Work full-time during May-October or April-October, with 60-62 hours per week
    • Take November-April fully off while maintaining full-time employment status and benefits year-round
  • Option 3: "Seasonal Swap"
    • Work May-October in Southampton and November-April at a warm-weather VPP partner hospital
    • Maintain 30+ hours per week year-round with consistent pay and benefits
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or VMD degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid veterinary license in the state of New York
  • 2+ years of experience working as a clinical veterinarian
