Sigma Systems is seeking an enthusiastic and highly organized Program Coordinator / Temporary Manager of Student Philanthropy for a 4-month contract opportunity in Boston, MA. This hybrid position is ideal for candidates with experience in program coordination, nonprofit fundraising, student engagement, event planning, volunteer management, marketing communications, or community outreach.

The successful candidate will help build a strong culture of philanthropy among university students by coordinating fundraising campaigns, recruiting and managing volunteers, developing student giving programs, and building relationships with student organizations and campus leaders.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director of Digital Programs, the Temporary Manager of Student Philanthropy will oversee student engagement and fundraising initiatives, including the university's flagship Senior Class Gift program.

This role will recruit and support student volunteers, plan and execute fundraising campaigns, manage the student philanthropy committee, communicate with student donors, and assist with administrative responsibilities. The Program Coordinator will also help develop new giving initiatives designed to expand student philanthropy across undergraduate class years.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the student philanthropy program with a focus on increasing philanthropic participation among graduating students.
  • Recruit, train, onboard, and supervise student volunteers and philanthropy committee members.
  • Plan and execute student fundraising and philanthropy campaigns.
  • Develop marketing and communications strategies to engage current students.
  • Coordinate educational programs and events that demonstrate the impact of private support at the university.
  • Build relationships with student leaders and organizations, including:
    • Student government
    • Student clubs and organizations
    • Club sports
    • Varsity athletic teams
    • Other campus groups
  • Identify opportunities for high-potential crowdfunding campaigns and recruit student participants for Giving Day initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director and Digital Programs team to develop new student giving programs.
  • Train and manage crowdfunding initiatives for student organizations across multiple campaign cycles.
  • Support major fundraising initiatives such as Giving Day, Giving Tuesday, and student-focused giving campaigns.
  • Provide guidance and resources to student organizations conducting fundraising activities.
  • Develop strong relationships with student leaders to promote participation in philanthropy.
  • Coordinate administrative activities associated with student philanthropy programs.
  • Monitor program activities and provide analytical and organizational support.
  • Adjust working hours as needed to accommodate evening in-person committee meetings and events.
