Job Title: General Labor / Forklift Operator – 2nd Shift (Vandalia, OH)
Location: Vandalia, OH (Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months
Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM 
Job Type: Contract

Position Overview: General Labor / Forklift Operator

Sigma Systems is currently seeking a General Labor / Forklift Operator for a 2nd shift onsite role in Vandalia, OH. This 6-month contract position is ideal for individuals who are comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment and can perform physically demanding tasks while adhering to safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:

1. General Labor Duties:

  • Perform a variety of general labor tasks including housekeeping and maintaining a clean work environment.

  • Operate machinery and assist in production-related activities.

  • Perform repetitive tasks efficiently and accurately.

  • Lift and move materials up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

  • Work in environments that may be dusty or dirty and require physical movement such as bending, stooping, and twisting.

2. Forklift Operation:

  • Operate powered industrial trucks (forklifts) safely and efficiently.

  • Complete required forklift training and certification.

  • Transport materials and products within the facility.

3. Production Support:

  • Follow directions and execute assigned production tasks.

  • Participate in on-the-job training and quickly gain proficiency.

  • Support team members and contribute to overall productivity goals.

4. Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow all company safety guidelines and procedures.

  • Wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes.

  • Maintain awareness of workplace hazards and ensure safe operations.


Qualifications:

• Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

• Experience:

  • Prior experience in general labor or warehouse environment preferred

  • Forklift experience is a plus

• Skills:

  • Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds

  • Basic math and counting skills

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions

  • Strong communication skills for both individual and group settings

  • Ability to work on feet for extended periods in a fast-paced environment

• Technical Requirements:

  • Ability to operate powered industrial trucks

  • Basic familiarity with computer systems (as needed)

• Knowledge:

  • Understanding of workplace safety practices and compliance

  • General knowledge of warehouse or production processes


Additional Requirements:
  • Steel-toed shoes required

  • Must pass a background check and drug test prior to assignment start
