Job description

At Vicar’s Landing, our Security & Transportation Officers do more than patrol—they help create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where residents feel at home.

In this role, you’ll be a visible presence throughout our community, providing safety, assistance, and friendly service to residents, guests, and team members. From evening transportation to security rounds, no two shifts are the same—and your work plays a key role in keeping our campus running smoothly and safely.

What You’ll Do
  • Patrol the campus and conduct routine security rounds to ensure a safe and secure environment
  • Monitor for safety hazards (lighting issues, obstacles, maintenance concerns) and report promptly
  • Respond to emergencies, alarms, and incidents with professionalism and urgency
  • Serve as a first point of contact for residents and guests, offering help and support as needed
  • Report suspicious activity and coordinate with local law enforcement when appropriate
  • Maintain detailed daily reports and logs of security activities and incidents
  • Operate and monitor security systems, including radios and fire alarm panels
  • Assist with basic troubleshooting of maintenance-related concerns and report issues
  • Enforce parking regulations and campus policies

Transportation & Service Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport residents to and from dining and other campus locations using a golf cart or wheelchair
  • Deliver packages, mail, and signature deliveries to residents
  • Support front desk operations as needed, including answering and directing calls
  • Assist residents with mobility needs and provide general support throughout your shift

Must Have Skills

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
  • Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong observation skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain alert, calm, and professional in all situations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently while staying connected with the team

Nice to Have Skills

  • Previous security, hospitality, or customer service experience
  • Experience working in a senior living or healthcare environment
  • Familiarity with safety systems or basic maintenance troubleshooting
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • You enjoy helping others and creating a welcoming environment
  • You’re dependable, attentive, and take pride in your work
  • You can balance safety responsibilities with customer service
  • You stay calm under pressure and respond thoughtfully in emergency situations
How You’ll Grow Here

In your first 12–24 months, you’ll have opportunities to:

  • Build skills in safety, security, and emergency response
  • Gain experience across multiple areas including transportation and operations
  • Develop strong relationships with residents and team members
  • Grow within Security or explore advancement opportunities in other departments
