Job description

Housekeeping Team Leader

Ponte Vedra Beach, FL | Onsite

ABOUT THIS ROLE

As a Housekeeping Team Leader at Vicar's Landing, you'll guide a small team of housekeepers in keeping our community clean, safe, and welcoming for every resident, guest, and team member. You'll perform hands-on cleaning duties alongside your team while checking their work, coaching on technique, and adjusting schedules to keep coverage solid. This role matters because a spotless, well-run community is often the first thing residents and families notice — and your leadership sets the standard the whole team follows. You'll partner closely with the Director of Housekeeping to keep quality consistent across every shift.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Check the work of team housekeepers against cleanliness standards, and step in to perform the same duties as needed.
  • Instruct and coach housekeeping team members on cleaning procedures, techniques, and problem-solving.
  • Adjust team assignments and schedules to cover absences or emergencies.
  • Inspect and monitor work quality in progress and upon completion, addressing issues and reporting unresolved problems to the Director/Assistant Director of Housekeeping.
  • Prepare requisitions, obtain cleaning supplies and materials, and distribute them to the team.
  • Ensure safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment, and maintain a safe, hazard-free work environment.
  • Treat residents with consideration, respect, and full recognition of their dignity and individuality.

SKILLS YOU NEED

Must Have Skills

  • High school diploma or GED, plus at least 1 year of related experience and/or training (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English and follow written and oral instructions
  • Comfort leading and coaching a small team (3–7 employees)
  • Ability to lift or move a minimum of 50 pounds and remain on your feet throughout the shift

Nice to Have Skills

  • One year of commercial or residential housekeeping experience
  • Comfort working at heights in tight spaces

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; relevant experience and training may substitute.

HOW YOU'LL GROW HERE
In your first 12–24 months, you'll have opportunities to:

  • Build your leadership and coaching skills by guiding and training a housekeeping team.
  • Take on expanded scope covering for the Director or Assistant Director of Housekeeping.
  • Access ongoing training and in-service programs to sharpen your skills.
