Job description

                                                       UVA Community Health | Haymarket Medical Center | PRN Critical Care NP or PA

UVA Community Health is seeking a PRN Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a Critical Care team of two physicians and four APPs, with multiple PRN providers at a community hospital that practices evidence based critical care medicine with a diverse and high acuity patient population.  Closed ICU model, with excellent nursing, RT and subspecialty support including cardiology, surgery, IR and neurology.   Average census is eight patients a day with three on Ventilators.  

*No call responsibilities after shift is complete.

Details about the Unit:

  • 11-bed unit at Haymarket Medical Center, with the ability to flex up to 19 beds
  • Staffing model: In house procedurally trained APP 24/7.  Physician in house during the day with home phone call availability
  • Telemedicine support to Haymarket Medical Center for triage and management assistance to ED and hospitalist service for critically ill patients

Required:

  • PA or NP Degree
  • Current Virginia medical license and DEA
  • Experience in Critical Care medicine
  • Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges

Preferred:

  • Preferably procedurally trained in central line and arterial line placement

The base compensation range for this role is an hourly rate of $70.47 to $79.19 for a 1.0 clinical FTE status.   Individual compensation will be determined by fair market value and the selected candidate's qualifications, clinical experience, specialty training, credentials, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs, such as productivity, quality, non-productivity, or other incentives that may be available for eligible positions.
