The Department of Cell Biology is currently seeking a full time Postdoctoral Associate to work in Miami. The Postdoctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Postdoctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Conducts research on specific areas of study as assigned.
2. Prepares research reports and technical papers for publishing.
3. Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories.
4. Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.
5. Develops advanced analytical models and systems and provides solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.
6. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Department Specific Functions:

The Weinberger lab is seeking an early career Postdoctoral Associate to join the laboratory as soon as possible. The lab focuses on elucidating fundamental mechanisms of gene regulation, and transcriptional circuits including gene-regulatory networks, feedback regulation, and regulation of stochastic expression noise in multiple model systems ranging from viruses to cancer. The lab also has strong interests in developing novel (i.e. new classes of) therapeutic modalities to address the evolution of resistance. The Weinberger lab employs a variety of molecular biological and quantitative techniques including microscopy, flow cytometry, computational/mathematical modeling, and utilizes approaches from synthetic biology and complex biological systems. Highly motivated individuals with diverse backgrounds in biology, physics, chemistry, and engineering are invited to apply.
