Work Environment

This on-site role takes place in our state-of-the-art Surgical Center, designed to provide a conducive and efficient environment for both patients and healthcare professionals. You will work alongside a collaborative team of physicians, surgeons, and nursing staff committed to delivering high-quality medical services. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, aligning with regular business hours, although you may occasionally need to accommodate evening or weekend shifts to meet patient needs. Flexibility in your schedule will be essential to ensure that all patients receive thorough and attentive care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations and pain assessments that consider physical, psychological, and social determinants of health.
• Formulate and implement individualized treatment strategies that integrate both pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods to address pain effectively.
• Provide continuous care for patients experiencing chronic pain conditions, aiming to improve their functional capacity, lessen pain levels, and boost overall quality of life.
• Address instances of acute pain related to injuries, post-surgical recovery, or medical treatments by employing evidence-based strategies that prioritize patient comfort and recovery.
• Prescribe and oversee medication regimens, tailoring treatments to individual patient requirements while monitoring for efficacy and possible side effects.
• Perform and supervise interventional procedures, including but not limited to nerve blocks and epidural injections, utilizing advanced techniques to alleviate patient discomfort.
• Educate patients on effective pain management techniques, encompassing lifestyle modifications and self-care practices, empowering them to play an active role in their recovery process.
• Maintain detailed and accurate electronic health records (EHR), documenting patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes consistently to ensure continuity of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will focus primarily on patients dealing with chronic pain syndromes, acute post-operative pain, and those requiring interventional pain management strategies. You will engage with diverse patient demographics, understanding various backgrounds, and leveraging effective communication skills to build trust and rapport.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and current certification.
• Active Oregon state medical license in good standing.
• Board certification in a specialty related to Pain Management is preferred.
• Demonstrated clinical proficiency and knowledge in pain management practices.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, highlighting your compassionate approach to patient care.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for effective documentation and patient management.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a dedication to lifelong learning and professional development.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in pain management or a related specialty, enhancing your ability to provide specialized care.
• Fellowship training in Pain Management, which will further enrich your clinical expertise in this area.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 260,000 to USD 610,000, commensurate with your experience and qualifications. In addition, Unity Medical Center offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
