Job description

Labor

This position will perform a variety of tasks included but not limited to: Perform loading and unloading materials, moving furniture, equipment and supplies; cleaning indoor and/or outdoor areas; removing debris and refuse from worksites; hauling, carrying, holding and lifting materials and equipment, warehouse work; may operate tools such jack hammer, air hammers and drills, blowers, shovel, pick, broom and aggregate rake; and cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment. May drive a truck or other vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Skills to safely lift and maneuver boxes and materials.
  • Skills to use common hand tools and basic landscaping tools
  • Skills to operate hand or powered equipment such as jack hammer, shovel, blower, pick, broom and aggregate rake.
  • Ability to work with computer to use basic data entry.
  • Interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to communicate with staff and team.
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Able to provide customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of approved safety devices and practices.
  • Knowledge of the operation of all equipment used in underground construction.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge to understand mechanical and structural specifications, blueprints, diagrams and craft terminologies.

  • Repetitive tasks and lift/carry objects weighing up to 50lbs.

  • A valid CA Driver’s license may be required.

  • Must be available to work variable shifts: days/hours (weekends, holidays, overtime, etc.) and float to other units/areas/buildings.
  • Perform tasks that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, protective clothing and gloves, fume hoods, glove boxes, wearing long pants, etc.
  • Personally responsible for following safety procedures and guidelines.
  • May work around loud noise, dust, tight confined areas, etc.
  • May work with or be in areas where hazardous materials and/or infectious diseases are present.
  • May work occasional overtime to meet operational deadlines.
