Instructional Technologist and Faculty Support - Orlando, FL
Excelon Associates is conducting a search on behalf of a private university client for an Instructional Technologist and Faculty Support (ITFS) professional. The primary focus of this role is the technology used to deliver education and the technical infrastructure that supports teaching and learning. The ITFS plays a crucial part in assisting with the management of Learning Management System (LMS) functions and multimedia tools, supporting curriculum development, and facilitating faculty training.
 
This individual attends various academic and faculty development meetings, including course scheduling, curriculum development, and Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) sessions. The role assists with specific LMS functions across multiple Canvas instances, provides training, manages vendor relationships, and supports faculty and students in utilizing various educational platforms.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the management of multiple Canvas LMS instances, including posting global announcements, verifying course content and resources, and ensuring compliance with language and templates
  • Provide support in managing faculty and student access, and assist in assigning and coordinating Teaching Assistants (TAs) and TA Champions
  • Offer assistance with Canvas Tools, DropOut Detective, BigBlueButton, TurnItIn, and other integrated technologies
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with educational vendors such as Cengage Unlimited, Pearson, McGraw Hill, uCertify, VitalSource, Elsevier, and Wiley
  • Collaborate with vendors and coordinate product training sessions for curriculum development teams
  • Support LMS integration with platforms such as CNOWv2, MindTap, WebAssign, and Connect
  • Assist in generating product usage reports, tracking purchase orders, acquiring VBID numbers for single sign-on, and managing distribution codes for resources
  • Provide training to Academic Leaders, Subject Matter Experts, Student Support, and Faculty on using LMS platforms and specific tools such as BigBlueButton, TurnItIn, and Canvas functionalities
  • Attend and contribute to course development meetings, assist with scheduling Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and support course revision workload management

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Technology/Design, or a related field preferred
  • Three or more years of experience in LMS support, academic operations, or curriculum development
  • Proficiency with platforms such as SIS/CampusNexus, Canvas LMS, DropOut Detective, Attendance Tracker, student portals, and other educational technologies
