Work Environment

This position is offered on-site at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility located in Dulles, Virginia. The workspace is designed to facilitate collaboration amongst a multidisciplinary team, ensuring all staff can easily communicate and coordinate patient care effectively. You will work 40 hours weekly, with the possibility of variable weekend shifts to accommodate patient and departmental needs. We maintain a drug-free workplace and require adherence to vaccination guidelines to ensure the health and safety of our workplace.

Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive examinations and evaluations of patients with functional limitations and disabilities, utilizing appropriate methodologies and evidence-based practices.
• Designing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on evaluations and patient goals, continuously monitoring patient progress and modifying treatment as necessary.
• Providing expert consultations to healthcare providers about a patient's continuum of care, ensuring seamless transitions and collaboration across treatment teams.
• Documenting patient evaluations, treatment plans, and outcomes accurately and efficiently in compliance with all legal, regulatory, and professional standards.
• Engaging actively in leadership and community outreach initiatives, contributing to program development, marketing, and performance improvement efforts.
• Participating in ongoing professional development by attending staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education courses to maintain knowledge of current trends and techniques in physical therapy.
• Supervising assigned support staff and contributing to their professional growth through mentorship and training.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with orthopedic patients, including individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Your focus will be on facilitating return-to-function and optimizing physical independence. Effective communication with patients and their families is key to developing trust, ensuring patient compliance, and promoting positive recovery outcomes. You should possess the empathy and judgement necessary to address diverse patient needs within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are required for this role:

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• Active State License in Physical Therapy.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact meaningfully with patients and healthcare colleagues.
• Competency in utilizing electronic medical record systems and basic word processing software.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience in a rehabilitation or orthopedic setting is highly desirable. Candidates with a strong background in manual therapy techniques, orthopedic injury rehabilitation, or experience working within interdisciplinary teams will be strongly considered. Knowledge of evidence-based practice guidelines and familiarity with contemporary modalities will enhance your application.

Compensation and Benefits
