Job description

Position Summary
Responsible for the overall financial and technical performance of the Inspection, testing and Repair business for the Fire Line of Business within Total Safety. Manages operations, equipment, instrumentation facilities and employees that perform service in areas which may include service and repair of portable and semi-portable fire extinguishers, life safety equipment, fire detection systems, gas detection systems, foam systems, dry chemical systems, gaseous fire suppression systems and water-based fire protection systems. Ensures compliance with established regulatory, safety, operating standards, policies and emergency response procedures.
Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop an annual operating plan for the Region that is aligned with the company's business strategy and provides continuous improvement in all areas of operation.
• Ensure that the Region meets its annual business plan, including EBITA, ROS, revenue, cash flow, and backlog. Provide accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts of those items throughout the year. When necessary, identify and implement cost reducing measures to meet financial commitments.
• Prioritize and guide investments and business focus within the Region based upon market data and field office needs. Consolidate and leverage the resources of the Region whenever/wherever possible for maximum efficiency and consistency.
• Ensure that each location continuously deploys action plans to improve employee engagement.
• Proactively create and maintain a culture of continuous quality improvement. Support and attain Total Safety's initiatives and goals.
• Actively promote the company code of ethics and ensure that all employees in the Region do the same. Maintain the highest ethical and safety standards.
• Ensure that each employee follows all safety rules and procedures and that each employee has a safe and healthy work environment.
• Drive the adoption of common process in all field offices. Develop and implement action plans to continuously improve customer satisfaction scores.
• Ensure that all employees/field offices comply with all policies and financial controls.
• Create and maintain a culture that is fully aligned with the company mission, purpose and values.
• Drive the functional integration of new acquisitions in the Region and lead/manage the acquisitions in all of the above areas.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, finance, engineering or a related field and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience with supervisory experience or an equivalent education and experience combination. MBA preferred.
Other Required Skills, Knowledge or Abilities:
Must have thorough knowledge of Total Safety Fire Protection related services. Must have in depth technical knowledge of fire and safety systems in industrial facilities and be knowledgeable in NFPA Standards. Must have excellent customer relationship skills. NICET certification in the appropriate area(s) is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and other data base software. Ability to quickly learn new software applications utilized by company.
Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations and requirements. Knowledge of State and Federal laws, local ordinances, and other rules and regulations associated with facility and employee Health & Safety.
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to direct others.
Must possess high ethical standards demonstrated by their approach to business.
Must demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, an unwavering commitment to safety and health and other company policies and procedures.
Must understand and effectively manage key financial issues that impact Safety functions and the business.
Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
Interpersonal Communications: Ensures that business initiatives and goals are effectively communicated to employees as appropriate. Demonstrates objective listening on a consistent basis and creates and maintains an environment that encourages open communication. Promotes respect within and outside the work group, teaches and encourages collaborative problem solving and effective working relationships. Coaches and counsels assigned staff to adhere to values, policies and standards and to improve safety, quality and process reliability in a cost-effective manner. Interfaces daily with other functional areas.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop and bend. Uses hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Combination of office and industrial environments. Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, outside and extreme weather conditions, moving mechanical parts and high elevations.

Complexity of Duties and Decisions: Work is measured on the completion of department- and company-wide objectives. Responsible for overall departmental success. Develops and administers budgets and serves as an advisor to others. Exercises considerable judgment and recommends change to increase effectiveness of current policy.
Authority: Manages the work of others in relation to meeting organizational objectives. Individual tasks will include performance management, budget development, and approval of new policy and processes. Accomplishes objectives through managing a team of skilled employees. Has full responsibility for achieving team objectives and managing employee performance.
