Position Overview

Three Rivers Mental Health Clinic is seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) to join our team on a full-time basis. This role offers a unique opportunity to deliver impactful, in-community therapy to children and adolescents dealing with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. The therapists will engage remotely, allowing for a flexible work environment while making a significant difference in clients' lives.

About the Organization

At Three Rivers Mental Health Clinic, we are committed to enhancing the mental well-being of our community by offering Comprehensive Youth and Family Support Services. Our mission is to provide exceptional care and support to families, focusing on children and adolescents with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities. We pride ourselves on fostering a diverse and inclusive work culture that values collaboration, empathy, and professional growth.

Work Environment

Our community health clinic operates with a flexible remote work model, enabling parents and caregivers to connect with our therapists from the comfort of their homes. This role is designed to be adaptable to accommodate the varying schedules of clients, particularly during after-school hours. We maintain a strong emphasis on teamwork, ensuring that our therapists work closely with interdisciplinary teams that include educators, social workers, and mental health practitioners for holistic care delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, either in-home or via our outpatient clinic, tailored to the specific needs of each child or family.
  • Implement interventions aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior or aggression, by teaching essential skills such as anger management and coping strategies.
  • Enhance decision-making abilities for both the children and their caregivers, addressing behavioral challenges that arise within the home environment.
  • Collaborate regularly with the Child Family Treatment Team, which may involve attending case management meetings to share insights and progress updates.
  • Complete and maintain all requisite documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to established timelines.
  • Provide recommendations based on client assessments during team meetings, contributing to the development of individualized treatment strategies.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The LMFTs at Three Rivers Mental Health Clinic will primarily work with children and adolescents, aged 3-20, experiencing various developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our focus includes delivering culturally competent services to bilingual Spanish and Portuguese-speaking clients. Therapists will be pivotal in supporting families to navigate challenges associated with their children’s unique needs, creating an inclusive environment for both clients and caregivers.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field is mandatory.
  • An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is required.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours weekly during after-school hours (4-7 pm) is essential, with weekend availability considered a plus.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are necessary for home visitations.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprint verification, is required.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience providing positive behavior support and implementing individualized treatment plans.
  • Prior work with children and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with best practices and evidence-based therapeutic methodologies is valued.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging between USD 80,000 – 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to salary, our team benefits from a comprehensive package that includes:

  • Dynamic and supportive work environment.
  • Group health coverage and annual paid time off.
  • Short and long-term disability insurance.
  • 401k retirement plan options for financial security.
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • A sign-on bonus, reflecting our commitment to attracting top talent.

As part of our team, you will have access to ongoing training programs, mentorship opportunities, and career advancement paths tailored to your professional goals. We support continuing education and encourage therapists to pursue specialized certifications that will enhance their practice and service delivery.
