As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children with developmental disabilities and their families.

About the Organization

Three Rivers Mental Health Clinic is a prominent outpatient mental health provider located in Nashville, Tennessee. Our clinic specializes in comprehensive youth and family support services for caregivers of children with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We pride ourselves on fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment where mental health professionals collaborate to provide top-notch care. Our team works diligently to improve the lives of individuals struggling with behavioral and emotional challenges, utilizing evidence-based practices to achieve positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-home therapy sessions or group therapy formats within our outpatient clinic to deliver intensive treatment to clients with developmental disabilities.
  • Implement strategies to mitigate high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) or aggression, by teaching essential skills including anger management, coping strategies, and social skills.
  • Enhance decision-making capacities for both children and their caregivers to improve treatment outcomes and address specific in-home behavioral challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with Child Family Treatment Teams and other interdisciplinary professionals to coordinate care and maximize impact.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Engage in regular team meetings to share insights, suggest improvements, and contribute to collective problem-solving efforts.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The focus of this role is to positively impact children and adolescents aged 3-20 who are navigating the complexities of developmental and intellectual disabilities. Therapists will work closely with families to address emotional, behavioral, and social challenges, helping to cultivate a supportive environment that enables children to thrive.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
  • Possession of an active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) credential.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, specifically during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with weekend availability preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for transportation to client locations.
  • Compliance with background check requirements, including fingerprinting.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience providing positive behavior support and intervention.
  • Prior engagement working with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is highly desirable to enhance communication with a broader patient demographic.
Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and education. In addition to exceptional pay, Three Rivers Mental Health Clinic provides a comprehensive benefits package including:

  • Dynamic work environment fostering teamwork and collaboration.
  • Group health coverage to support employee well-being.
  • Annual paid time off for rest and rejuvenation.
  • Ongoing job training and professional development opportunities.
