This full-time position offers a unique opportunity for a skilled professional to engage in meaningful work focused on enhancing the mental well-being of individuals undergoing detoxification. As an LCSW, you will play a pivotal role in our clients' journeys toward recovery, ensuring that they receive holistic care that addresses both their emotional and systemic challenges.

About the Organization

The Still Point is a mission-driven outpatient practice committed to promoting whole-person wellness and equity in mental health care. We focus on delivering trauma-informed and culturally competent treatment to our diverse clients, which range from individuals battling substance addiction to those navigating various personal challenges. Our approach emphasizes understanding the broader contexts that affect our clients' mental health and encourages a collaborative environment that prioritizes integrity and respect.

Work Environment

This role is designed for a remote setup, allowing for flexibility while fostering a strong, supportive culture among our team members. You will engage regularly in clinical consultations and case reviews via telehealth platforms, including SimplePractice and Zoom, ensuring you remain connected with colleagues even in a virtual environment. The Still Point promotes an inclusive workplace where every team member’s contribution is valued, and collaboration is at the forefront of our practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough biopsychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations to inform individualized treatment plans for each client.
  • Provide high-quality individual, family, and group therapy sessions using evidence-based practices tailored to the unique needs of clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Maintain meticulous clinical documentation that adheres to all ethical, legal, and agency standards to ensure compliance and accountability in practice.
  • Participate in regular clinical consultations, team meetings, and professional trainings to enhance skills and stay updated on best practices.
  • Advocate for clients by coordinating with external systems such as schools, healthcare facilities, and legal entities to facilitate comprehensive support.
  • Foster an environment of learning and mutual support within the team, contributing to a culture of inclusion and respect.
Patient Population / Client Focus

At The Still Point, you will work with a diverse clientele, including individuals from marginalized communities such as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, immigrant/refugee populations, and those facing socioeconomic disadvantages. You will address a range of emotional, relational, and systemic issues, emphasizing trauma-informed care that respects each client’s unique narrative and needs.

Qualifications
  • Must possess an active and valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification in the state of California.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field is required; additional education is a plus.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of post-licensure clinical experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency in diagnostic formulation and trauma-informed care.
  • Experience with culturally competent practices that consider the diverse backgrounds and needs of clients.
  • Basic familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs) and telehealth platforms.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working within detox or addiction recovery settings is highly desirable.
  • Proficient understanding of mental health challenges faced by marginalized populations and the ability to engage effectively with these groups.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to form therapeutic alliances with clients.
Compensation and Benefits

The Still Point offers a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes:

  • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and mental health coverage.
  • Flexible scheduling options, including hybrid work or teletherapy services.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) for vacation, sick days, and holidays.
  • Opportunities for continuing education, including CEU reimbursements and access to internal training sessions.
  • Clinical consultation opportunities through weekly case conferences and peer support sessions.
  • A collaborative and supportive team environment that prioritizes professional growth.
Career Growth Opportunities

At The Still Point, we are committed to fostering the professional growth of our team members. You will have access to ongoing training and supervision, enabling you to develop your skills further and advance your career within the organization. We encourage continuous learning and provide opportunities for upward mobility in clinical or leadership roles.
